Owned buy Picture Playhouses Ltd.
Opened by PUDC chairman G.H.K. Kingdon on 17th August 1932.
Victoria House stood on the cinema site and after demolition the cinema was erected in a U.K. record time of 20 weeks.
On March 30th 1983 seven  people watched the last film shown.
Madelaine Trescowthick was the manageress and had worked at the cinema for 38 years.
The cinema was demolished in January 1986 to be replaced by a block of flats, Regent House.
